Malaysia For Tomorrow

With aging comes widening. Not just the hips, ladies [& a high population of American middle aged men], but widening of circumstances & lengthening of perspective. You learn that you really just can’t tell someone who’s fixated on what they perceive that they aren’t seeing clearly. You can’t jump…

Song Of The Day #4: There For Tomorrow - “The Joyride” (2011 Hopeless Records, from the album The Verge)

Florida natives There For Tomorrow have been making REAL rock music since forming in 2003. The band have crafted their expertise down to a science, and it shows on their newest album The Verge.

Unlike their contemporaries, the bass and drums shine on The Verge just as much as the guitars and vocals do. “The Joyride” is catchy, and just flat out rocks.

TFT are extremely underrated and deserve much more praise than they receive from our music community. Don’t sleep on this record.

Side note: I’ve found myself trying to imitate Chris Kamrada’s drum parts on school desks with pencils as drumsticks recently, specifically the 2:19-2:40 region. I wish I could play the drums.
